A new place
Life has been a bit of a whirlwind this past week. I’m always amazed at how life can change so quickly. In one place “today”, gone “tomorrow.” Just like that.
As I write, I’m sitting here, feet up – slightly exhausted but contented – in the middle of a great big city, but on a quiet street, listening to night bugs sing their songs. I’m on a couch – that was in another city not long ago. My pantry is filled with goods from the international market around the corner where the world is literally at our doorstep, and I’ve tucked the little ones in – just like I’ve done every night for the past 9 years. But life is different now. We don’t have our bearings yet, don’t really know anyone – the adventure and journey before us – hands open. We call this place home now and life ticks on. There’s something about children that helps things to feel normal, even when they’re not. We’re really thankful to be here – though it’s still a bit surreal. We even ate a delicious meal tonight delivered by some fellow Intervarsity staff, and enjoyed another visit from some more staff who brought us a yummy pie while our kids all ate yogurt together at the dining room table. We are called here. We are blessed. And our story is being written by a magnificent God…
( here is a tour of our new nest – the place we now call home.)
