When Suffering Makes Sense (another Sunday pondering)

Sometimes our vision is blurred when we feel pain. When you are really sick, or have broken a bone or twisted an ankle, it’s difficult amidst the pain to perceive an end to it. And when the pain lifts, even if ever so slightly, there is great relief that the intensity of the pain caused won’t last “forever.”

I realize the latest writings have seemed a little dim. Most days, by Gods grace, my eyes are opened to the wonder of life and the beauty amidst it – But sometimes you have to walk through the darkness and feel it, really feel it – to have the mind of JOY that isn’t based on circumstances. I’m praising The Lord today for how good He really is. I live a life many would give anything for – married to my best friend, surrounded everyday with 4 precious little people and on this great adventure of a new, courageous, wonder-filled chapter God is writing next in The story of my family.  It really is an adventure. And it really is a great privilege to be a child of the King! We can carelessly leave to God the unknown. It is He who knows us, really, really knows us. How beautiful!

We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
And all the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?
