I’m getting in

I recently read this article on Huffington Post and it brought tears to my eyes. It was about how we mom’s should get in front of the camera more with our little ones. I confess, I much more prefer being behind the camera and highlighting the children who are much cuter than I, but these words stood out to me:

I’m everywhere in their young lives, and yet I have very few pictures of me with them. Someday I won’t be here — and I don’t know if that someday is tomorrow or thirty or forty or fifty years from now — but I want them to have pictures of me. I want them to see the way I looked at them, see how much I loved them. I am not perfect to look at and I am not perfect to love, but I am perfectly their mother.

While I’m all about living life with my children as opposed to watching them live through the lens of a camera, I think pictures are one of those great gifts given to us by the Lord in our modern times and I’m taking the challenge to get in the pictures more with my husband and children….
