Charlotte Mason taught that when books are many, varied, and living the child is able to take up the ideas in them like a plant taking nutrients from the soil. The result is “full happy living, resourcefulness, expansiveness, expression, power of initiative, serviceableness—in a word, character.”
This is why we love the curriculum we use to educate our children. Although I still feel like I’m trying to submerge myself more deeply into her methods, she does a beautiful job of embracing children as authentic, real individuals with the capacity to not only know, but to live and express and reflect their creator.
